What is Maximum Music Group Inc.?
When you talk about a company like Maximum you have to start at the beginning. The number of accomplishments this company has had in its short existence is staggering. Entering the business we call music in 2000, Brian Watson, the company's founder was already familiar with music management. He was introduced to the industry a short time earlier under the employ of the likes of Richard Branson's Virgin record label and prominent Canadian booking agency SL Feldman & Associates; until that time Maximum had been a small production company.
In 2000 Watson took the company in another direction introducing an expanded label roster, bringing on an award winning management clientele and a larger distribution partner. These new initiatives at that time represented a huge step up for west coast Canadian record labels and management companies as the opportunities for western based Canadian folk, roots, jazz and blues artists until then were limited to but a handful of locally based organizations more interested in following the commercial trend of the day versus investing in long term artist development strategies.
In subsequent years Maximum has attracted new executive co-owners and partners in Richard Scorgie (President) and Dana Ashmead (Vice-President) where they have begun developing the newly minted Maximum Music Group Inc. into a leader of discovering new and innovative ways to connect, promote and deliver artists and their music to the world.
Maximum now operates four main divisions, the core label group comprised of Maximum Music and Maximum Jazz; the distribution arm of Maximum Distribution providing both traditional and digital distribution for independent artists; the Touring and Performer services division offering a number of community services for all genres of music and finally MyMaxCast.com an online music community and content aggregator for music from around the world.

Want to get involved in the music business? Want to help spread the word on your favorite Maximum artist? Want the satisfaction of knowing that you've helped turn
people onto some really exciting new music? Then join our ever growing promotions team!
We have three areas that our artists could use your help...
The first way is to make sure your local radio station is spinning the record. If you know of a radio station, commercial, college or internet it doesn't matter or say you have a specific show that you listen to or perhaps you know a DJ that would enjoy playing some of our music, the best thing you can do is to call them and request your favorite tune. However if it happens to be they don't have the record but would like to receive a copy, you can let us know and we'll immediately send them one for their play list.
Or if you enjoy spending time in record stores and know of a shop that should have our releases on hand but don't, drop us an email and we'll follow-up directly with the store manager and make sure we get some music on the shelves.
A third way to help is to tell us about cool & hip places that you like to visit or hang-out at. They could be coffee houses, skateboard shops, music equipment stores, restaurants, pubs, clubs, book stores and even music venues - basically any place that you think likeminded people would enjoy hearing the same music as you!
If you have feedback on any of the above or have another idea simply contact us
and someone from our marketing & promotions team will follow-up with you right away.
We licence almost everything in our catalogue. If you are interested in a specific song or a particular artist for use in film or television please contact us and we will get back to you.
